Argentina is a fabulous and frustrating country – staggeringly beautiful, mindblowingly bureaucratic. It is built on rules and regulations that you only hear rumours about and which become fact only once you have fallen foul of them!
San Rafael is the wild, wild west. As far west as you can get before you hit the Andes mountains. Living here can be a massive culture shock. There are very few English speakers other than us ‘extranjeros’; siesta time is so alien it has us all pulling our hair out…..and the concept of being on time for anything…other than school…is anathema. As expats we all intend to learn the lingo, but even if one masters the rudimentary phrases, we still find it difficult to get the house built or the car serviced.
SanRafaelatoz is a resource site for expats moving to San Rafael, and for English speaking tourists who are just passing through. It will be full of really, really useful information. Everything will be written in English….what to do and see, where to find an English speaking doctor, dentist. Where to eat, what to drink and many, many other aspects of daily life in a small town.
I am sure those of us who move abroad, like a challenge, but there is nothing wrong with having a little help along the way. That’s what we are here for…….
The site is constantly being updated, but if there is information you require that you can’t find in the AtoZ, visit us later or please contact us and we will do our best to give you the lowdown – info@sanrafaelatoz.com
